The 13-tonne JCB JS130 is a great all-round machine and has evolved over its years in production. One of the most popular in the UK at this weight range, this is why there are plenty of JS130 machines for sale at Plant Pages. Available as far back as 1991 at 12.3 tonnes and Isuzu engine, this model was upgraded in 1997 - to 13.47 tonnes, keeping an Isuzu engine but with a power lift to 70kW and then further in 2005. The JCB JS131 LC is the hire specification version of the popular JS130 LC 13-tonne tracked excavator range. This means no SCR, so no Adblue needed, no DPF, but less power than the 130 model using the same EcoMax 444 engine. As a consequence, the JS131 runs more quietly than the 130 model. The JCB JS145 LC is the long carriage version of the tracked excavator - there is an HD (heavy duty carriage version as well, both of these options have fully welded 'X' frame with sloping side members. Track shoe options in the JS145 LC are 500, 600 or 700mm. The tracked excavator is powered by JCB's EcoMax 444 Stage IV diesel with 81kW from its 4.4 litres and does not require the use of a DPF. The JS160LC was available from 2007 until around 2103 with the Isuzu 92kW engine but was upgraded with the 2012 launch of the revised version with the JCB DieselMax 444 engine with 93kW, since upgraded to the 448 stage V with 97kW. When specifying new, buyers of the JCB JS220 LC (Long Carriage) could choose between a monoboom or a TAB (Triple Articulated Boom). The latest model was launched in 2013 and has since been replaced by JCB's latest new generation X Series machine the 220X. Powered by a 129kW EcoMAX T4i/Stage 3B engine, the later post 2013 model saw fuel consumption improvements of some 105 compared to the earlier models.  An added benefit for operators is no SCR, Adblue and DPF are needed. Launched in 2005, the JCB JZ140 was the first of the larger excavators to have the zero tail swing treatment by JCB.  The JZ140's original standard spec for UK operators includes a 4.7 m monoboom, 2.5 m dipper and 700 mm triple grousers and it can use all the popular JS130 buckets and attachments.
