Komatsu is a Japanese company with a strong presence in the UK since 1985. This makes them a popular choice in the UK market. You will therefore always find a good selection of Komatsu machines for sale from operators and plant traders here, at Plant Pages. Komatsu is the world’s second largest manufacturer of construction and utility equipment that makes over 1,000 medium and large tracked excavators in the UK at their factory in County Durham every year. Komatsu manufactures plenty of dozers, loaders, dump trucks and motor graders as well as their diggers. All Komatsu crawler excavator models start with ‘PC’ , whilst the dozer models start with a ‘D’. Wheel excavators all start ‘PW’ and the Wheel Loaders ‘WA’.
In addition to used Komatsu machines being available from dealers across the country, Komatsu have their own used remarketing arm via the exclusive dealer in the UK, Marubeni-Komatsu where they sell used Komatsu equipment directly.
With such a broad range of equipment, Komatsu covers a number of industries, from quarry & mining to demolition with their popular demolition excavators, waste & recycling, construction, road building and materials handling.
Marubeni-Komatsu stocks over 16,000 of the most popular Komatsu parts which are available for next-day UK delivery from their central warehouse in Redditch. Stocks of parts are held centrally for Europe in Belgium, many of which on a next day service. Komatsu has 500,000 square metres of warehouse space and has over 7 million pieces in stock. Getting the right part on time should not be too tricky.
The company was named after the city of Komatsu, situated on Honshu – the largest island of Japan, which is also where it was founded in 1921. One of the first machines Komatsu built was the crawler tractor, and has since then developed the world’s most extensive range of construction and mining equipment, including the world’s largest bulldozers (D575), the first hybrid excavator and the first excavator with integrated intelligent machine control technology.
