KUBOTA LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR MICRO-EXCAVATOR OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

Kubota has been announced as the sponsor of the ‘Micro-Excavator Operator of the Year’ category at the Best UK Plant Operator 2023 competition, an annual event hosted by UK Plant Operators Magazine in partnership with the CITB and Morris Leslie.

It marks the first time that the event has organised a tournament specifically for the micro-excavator category. As part of the sponsorship, Kubota will supply one of its leading micro machines to the competition, where it will be put to the test in both a series of semi-finals in July and the grand final in September.

The Best UK Plant Operator of the Year competition is the largest annual event seeking to find the country’s best construction machinery operator. Finalists will be expected to demonstrate their skill and knowledge, in addition to showcasing the technological and engineered solutions that the machines can deliver.

Rob White, Division Manager for Construction at Kubota UK, said: “It’s an honour to be sponsoring the micro-excavator category at this year’s competition; the first time the category has ever been contested.

As a leading manufacturer of micro-excavators, it’s fantastic to put our name to this category. We can’t wait to see what the best operators this country has to offer when the competition kicks off in July.”

The first round of the micro-excavator competition will take place on July 22nd in Perth, Scotland, with the final taking place on 30th September in Kings Lynn.
