Plant hire company, Banner Plant Limited, is raising much needed funds for children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, and has bolstered its 2022 fundraising activity by donating 50% of hire revenue generated by a new Kubota mini-excavator in 2022. An initial upfront donation by the plant hire company sees it contribute £1,800 to the worthy cause, with a host of other fundraising plans lined up before the end of the year.

“The fantastic work that Place2Be do and the support it provides young school children is so important to them growing up, and it’s a pleasure for us to be in a position to contribute towards the charity’s mission,” comments Richard Boot, Business Manager at Banner Plant Limited. “We’ve started our fundraising campaign with an initial £1,800 donation, which is roughly 50% of a years’ worth of hire revenue for a new machine, but we’ve also got several fundraising activities lined-up and charity days too, as we look to increase our contribution.”

Banner Plant Limited has chosen a new Kubota KX027-4 as its charity fundraising machine and has covered the mini-excavator in Place2Be coloured livery as part of the campaign.

“A new machine for hire always draws attention, so we thought why not choose the KX027-4 as our fundraising digger to add even more anticipation, and highlight our campaign,” continued Richard Boot. “The fundraising is set-up so our customers, partners, and anyone in a position to do so, can contribute, all via our JustGiving page. We’ve already had donations on top of our original amount, which we’re so thankful for.”

Place2Be was chosen by Banner Plant Limited parent company, Henry Boot PLC as its charity of the year and sees several companies fundraising for the same cause. The children’s mental health charity provides counselling, support, and training to pupils of schools across the U.K. With half of all mental health problems established by the age of 14*, the charity aims to ‘provide support early to spot mental health problems before they develop and help children cope with challenges throughout their lives.’

Banner Plant Limited will be celebrating its 65th year in 2023 and is a high-class supplier of construction equipment from power tools, to large plant machinery, ensuring it provides full coverage for its varied customer base. Its main operations are based just south of Sheffield, in Dronfield, but the company has several locations stretching the length of the M1 corridor, from Leicester to Leeds.

The KX027-4 used as part of the initiative was purchased via Kubota dealer, BTE Plant Sales, and becomes one of many Kubota machines across Banner Plant’s fleet that consists of entirely just Kubota models, across all its depots.

“We have to provide our customers with machines that are good quality and reliable, that’s why we stock Kubota models. Our customers know what they can expect,” concludes Richard Boot. “It also means the charity excavator can be out fundraising on various jobs as the downtime is minimal.”
