At its first-ever appearance at Bauma, Develon—formerly Doosan Construction Equipment—announced several groundbreaking innovations. These included the premiere of the Next Generation -9 crawler excavators, alongside Real X, the next stage in autonomous operations. The company also unveiled a new agreement with Holcim Inc., a global leader in innovative and sustainable building materials, as well as a partnership with ATLAS GmbH, a leading manufacturer of cranes, wheeled, crawler, and rail-road excavators, and material handlers across various weight and performance categories.

Next Generation -9 Models

Two new smart heavy crawler excavators were unveiled in Europe for the first time at a special ceremony on the Develon stand. The DX230LC-9, a 23-tonne crawler excavator, was part of the static display, while the DX260LC-9, a 26-tonne model, demonstrated its capabilities in the exhibition’s live demonstration area.

These Next Generation -9 models integrate ten advanced technologies, setting new industry benchmarks in productivity, safety, and operator convenience. With the -9 range, Develon aims to redefine standards for future construction equipment innovations:

  • Smart All-Around Viewing Monitor (SAVM)
  • Advanced Lift Assist
  • E-Stop
  • Virtual Wall
  • 2D Machine Guidance
  • Smart Control
  • Breaker Assist
  • Auto Breaker
  • Weighing Assist
  • Prognostics and Health Management (PHM)

Develon and Autonomous Operations

At Bauma, Develon continued its advancements in autonomous excavation with Real X, enabling its latest smart crawler excavators to perform a full suite of autonomous tasks, including trenching, bulk earthwork, and truck-loading. Real X leverages Develon’s expertise in AI-powered construction technology, accelerating the development of safer, more productive, and more sustainable autonomous excavation solutions.

Customers benefit from enhanced productivity and predictability, thanks to faster and more consistent cycle times and an intuitive user interface that improves task communication and real-time reporting. With a 30% increase in output for trenching, bulk earthwork, and truck-loading, customers can expect a technology return on investment exceeding 100%.

Real X is the result of an agreement between HD Hyundai Xitesolution (HDX)—the holding company for HD Hyundai Infracore and its Develon brand—and Gravis Robotics AG. HDX and Gravis Robotics are collaborating to implement jointly developed autonomous technology using Develon’s equipment.

Revolutionary Safety with the Transparent Bucket

For the first time at Bauma, Develon showcased the Transparent Bucket 2.0 (TB2.0) system—an advanced safety and visibility solution for its wheel loaders. Designed to eliminate blind spots, TB2.0 enhances both operator safety and job site efficiency.

Traditional wheel loaders create blind spots in front of the machine when the bucket is raised, posing serious safety risks. The Develon Transparent Bucket resolves this issue by utilizing high-tech front-mounted cameras to generate a real-time see-through effect on the cab monitor. This technology provides operators with an unobstructed view of the hidden area, ensuring greater awareness and precision when handling materials such as aggregates, sand, and soil.
