Much more mobile that its tracked sibling, the wheeled excavator is a much rarer sight in the UK. Manoeuvrability is not everything when it comes to digging and moving materials. It seems that traction and stability are much more important. Stability is the weakness of the wheeled excavator which means that capacities are lower and it has earned itself the nickname of a ‘Rubber Duck’. It runs on rubber and it bobs around like a duck when working. There are still plenty of applications for wheeled excavators, especially in the waste and scrap industries, so you should always find a good selection for sale and for auction here at PlantPages UK.
