With the company dating back to 1911, Merlo are the specialists in the manufacture of telehandlers. The Italian company makes a range of fixed and rotating telescopic handlers with their first ever made back in 1981 with the SM30 model.

The first rotating turret model ROTO came more recently in 1991. Since this time, the company focused increasingly on the farming market with their TurboFarmer (TF range) in 1996 and their MultiFarmer in 2000. The construction range of Merlo telehandlers was launched as recently as 2018.
